Statistics service says Russia’s GDP falls 0.7% in January–March

MOSCOW, Jun 15 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) contracted by 0.7% on the year in January–March, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement on Tuesday quoting a first estimate.

The physical amount of GDP stood at 26.771 trillion rubles in January–March in current prices.

The service said that the GDP rose by 1.4% on the year in January–March 2020 and fell by 7.8% in April–June, by 3.5% in July–September, and by 1.8% in October–December. In 2020, the GDP decreased by 3%.

In April, the service preliminarily put the GDP fall at 1% in January–March 2021.
